{"id":5151,"date":"2020-11-08T19:43:45","date_gmt":"2020-11-08T19:43:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rowingireland.flywheelsites.com\/?page_id=5151"},"modified":"2023-11-01T09:58:17","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T09:58:17","slug":"get-going-get-rowing","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rowingireland.ie\/rowing-for-all\/get-going-get-rowing\/","title":{"rendered":"Get Going Get Rowing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does Get Going\u2026Get Rowing work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rowing Ireland will bring rowing machines to your school or you will partner a rowing ireland club to conduct classes in.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The programme will provide a fully training Community Coach as part of PE class<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All community coaches are Rowing Ireland Garda vetted in line with Sport Ireland recommendations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The classes are structured but fun and include rowing whilst learning the Olympic values (respect, dignity, fairplay)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As part of the initiative you will be given the option to experience a minimum of one on the water session<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Schools are invited to take part in at least one Get Rowing #Blitzit events (Trinity, Carlow, UL, Hanover Quay)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Partnerships with schools and the requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The schools must be within a 30-minute drive of a Rowing Ireland affiliated Rowing club.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give access to Rowing Ireland staff partners during PE time to facilitate the delivery of the programme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep the machines safe and facilitate in the maintenance and upkeep if necessary of the rowing machines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend one or more #Blitzit events and the All Ireland #Blitzit (water &amp; land).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The programme is a minimum of 4-6 weeks in duration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get Going\u2026Get Rowing (Rowing Ireland) have full ownership of the programme under its February 2014 launch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Get Going\u2026Get Rowing programme is led by Rowing Ireland in conjunction with a primary partner (Local Sports partnership, Youth services or academic institutions)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Come on board and join us in this fun active programme.
