With a growing interest in this exciting and fast-paced discipline, the 2025 calendar includes qualification for four major international competitions: the Home International Regatta, Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprints, the European Beach Sprint Championships and the World Beach Sprint Championships<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Home International Beach Sprints \u2013 Narin Beach, Donegal&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Home International Beach Sprints will take place on September 20th, 2025, at Narin Beach, Portnoo, Co. Donegal. Categories will include CMX1, CWX1, CMiX2, CU23MiX2, CJMX1, CJWX1, and CJMiX2. Qualification will be held at the same venue on July 5th, with full details available via the event page on Tracker.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible athletes must meet the following age criteria:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Junior athletes: born on or after September 1st, 2006&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>U23 born on or after January 1st, 2003&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each selected athlete is required to become a member of the Rowing Ireland HP Coastal programme. A team manager will be appointed, and the beach sprint selection policy will be published on the Rowing Ireland website.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprints \u2013 La Linea, Spain&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprints will be hosted in La Linea, C\u00e1diz, Spain from October 31st to November 2nd, 2025. Categories include CJMX1, CJWX1, CJMX2, CJWX2, and CJMiX2. Athletes will be selected based on a High-Performance trialling process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Junior athletes must be born on or after January 1st, 2007. Each selected athlete is required to become a member of the Rowing Ireland HP Coastal programme. As with the flatwater Coupe De La Jeunesse, this team will be self-funded.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">European Beach Sprint Championships \u2013 Manavgat, T\u00fcrkiye&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2025 European Beach Sprint Championships will take place in Manavgat, T\u00fcrkiye, from October 9th to 12th. The event will feature CMX1, CWX1, CMiX2, CJMX1, CJW1, and CMiX2 categories. Rowing Ireland will fund a team for this event and the World Championships as per flatwater. Athletes will be selected based on a High-Performance trialling process. Junior athletes must be born on or after January 1st, 2007.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>High Performance Trialling and Selection Process<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Selection for the Coupe De La Jeunesse, European and World Championships will mirror the rigorous approach of international flatwater selection. The process will include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phase 1: Ergometer and water assessments&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phase 2: Beach sprint-specific trials&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested athletes must have their club coach submit an expression of interest to <a href=\"mailto:info@rowingireland.ie\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">info@rowingireland.ie <\/mark><\/a>by 20<sup>th<\/sup> June. Prior experience in coastal rowing is not required, and applications are welcomed from both flatwater and coastal athletes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In alignment with Rowing Ireland\u2019s inclusion policy, we strongly encourage expressions of interest for the PRMiX2 category \u2013 a fully sanctioned World Championship event consisting of one able-bodied athlete and one Para athlete (male and female).
