This month, we are pleased to share Sport Ireland\u2019s April <em>Safeguarding Snippet<\/em>, which focuses on raising awareness around eating disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By promoting these important recommendations, we reaffirm our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of care and safeguarding in our sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For our junior members, it is essential to foster a positive and healthy culture around food, nutrition, and body image. Coaches, parents, and guardians all play a vital role in this effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Indicators of a Potential Eating Disorder:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preoccupation with food or body weight<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avoidance of meals or restrictive eating patterns<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noticeable mood swings or social withdrawal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gastrointestinal complaints, dizziness, and other physical symptoms<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage all members, coaches, and parents to review and familiarise themselves with the guidance provided in the document below.
