{"id":27769,"date":"2024-10-11T13:58:14","date_gmt":"2024-10-11T12:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rowingireland.ie\/?p=27769"},"modified":"2024-10-11T14:02:22","modified_gmt":"2024-10-11T13:02:22","slug":"hp-trials-update-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rowingireland.ie\/hp-trials-update-2\/","title":{"rendered":"HP Trials Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Updates on the October and November HP Trials can be found below, with a full outline of the year to be published shortly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So that clubs and athletes are aware, this year U19 athletes that are selected for the World Championships will be able to race at the Irish Championships in July. The date for Coupe de la Jeunesse is still to be confirmed but it is likely that athletes selected for this event will also be able to compete at the Irish Championships.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the U23 World Championships take place two weeks after the Irish Championships, athletes selected for this event will not be in a position to compete at the Irish Championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>October Trial<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>An email will be sent out to all coaches on Wednesday with information on the Time Trial taking place on October 19<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and 20<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there is anyone available to volunteer on the day, please email Clara at <a href=\"mailto:clara.obrien@rowingireland.ie\">clara.obrien@rowingireland.ie<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>November Trial<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The November trial is also going to be an open event and can be entered by any U19, U23, Senior and Para athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Erg monitoring<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Erg monitoring&nbsp;will take place during the week of<strong>&nbsp;November 11<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;to 17<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>&nbsp;. The testing can take place at any stage during the week, but it must be carried out on two consecutive days following this format:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>100m + 500m at open rate on the morning of Day 1. A 20-minute break should be taken between the 100m and 500m. <em>Time to be recorded.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6k (3k for adaptive) at open rate on the afternoon of Day 1. <em>Time to be recorded.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>30 minutes at Rate 20 on the afternoon of Day 2. <em>Meters to be recorded.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Erg scores should be submitted to <a href=\"mailto:clara.obrien@rowingireland.ie\">clara.obrien@rowingireland.ie<\/a> no later than <strong>5pm on November 18<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Water Trial<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The November time-trial will take place at the NRC&nbsp;on the <strong>23<sup>rd<\/sup><\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>and 24<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of November<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Athletes and coaches are reminded that this is an open event, and we are looking for athletes with the potential to be selected as part of the World Championship team (Senior, U23, U19 and Adaptive), Coupe de la Jeunesse and the Home Internationals.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Athletes are invited to attend this time-trial in singles or pairs on both days. The distance of the time-trial will be 6km but will be dependent on weather conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In some cases, athletes may be asked to move into crew boats on day 2 if deemed appropriate by the HPD.
